AGT-Bunyip IA has been specifically developed to carry tolerance to Sipcam Aggressor® (Group 1 Quizalofop-P-Ethyl) herbicide and imidazolinone herbicides, including Nufarm Intercept® (Group 2 Imazamox and Imazapyr). Both groups offer post-emergent knockdown of major grass weeds including brome grass, barley grass, annual ryegrass, wild oats, and volunteer wheat and barley (non-Sipcam Aggressor® or imidazolinone tolerant only). Sipcam Aggressor® herbicide has a wide application window and flexibility to be mixed with herbicides to control broadleaf weeds, with no carryover on soil or grain residue issues. Distribution of Sipcam Aggressor® herbicide and the CoAXium® stewardship program is administered by Sipcam. Visit www.coaxium.com.au for more information.

AGT-Bunyip IA can be traded between growers upon the completion of a License Agreement as part of AGT’s Seed Sharing™ initiative.
AGT-Bunyip IA is protected by Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) and all production (except seed saved for planting) is liable to an End Point Royalty (EPR), which funds future plant breeding.
AGT-Bunyip IA growers will be subject to a Grower License Agreement that acknowledges that an EPR of $5.50/tonne + GST must be paid on all production other than seed saved for planting.
If you require confirmation that your seed source is pure for the CoAXium™ trait (Aggressor™ AX herbicide tolerance) you can obtain a DNA-based PCR test on your seed sample.
To arrange your test please contact Intertek (the service provider).

Breeders comments
AGT-Bunyip IA is the first variety in the world to offer dual herbicide tolerance, combining the ever-popular tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides, and the newer CoAXium® (Aggressor® hebicide) tolerance.
Both herbicide tolerances are effective on susceptible populations of common problem grass weeds including brome grass and barley grass.
This ‘stacked’ herbicide tolerance provides increased flexibility. A grower may wish to plant AGT-Bunyip IA following a Clearfield® or imidazolinone herbicide tolerant crop to mitigate risk of residual carry-over. Aggressor® may then be used in-crop to control susceptible grass weeds. Or, either herbicide may be used in-crop for weed control.
Agronomically very similar to leading variety Maximus CL, but with increased yield and herbicide tolerance flexibility, we regard AGT-Bunyip as an excellent replacement for Maximus CL.
AGT-Bunyip IA offers a very good physical grain quality package and has entered the Grains Australia malt accreditation program, with an outcome expected in 2027.
