Breeders comments
AGT-Glamour CL Plus is a very unique variety - the only APH quality Clearfield® tolerant variety in a slow maturity, suited to the 'early' planting window.
Until now, there has been a limited choice when it comes to wheat varieties carrying Clearfield® tolerance suited to the northern region, with Sunblade CL Plus being an excellent option for main season plantings. Over many years we have received industry feedback requesting a high performing Clearfield® variety that suits the early planting window, with AGT-Glamour CL Plus answering the call.
Based on slower maturing variety Coolah, AGT-Glamour CL Plus offers an excellent over-all package to growers, with high and stable yields, excellent physical grain quality characteristics and sound disease resistance complementing its ability to tolerate imidazolinone herbicides.
A slower maturing variety with Clearfield® tolerance in the north will allow growers to enter the winter cropping phase with confidence following a summer crop where imi herbicides have been used, when herbicide residues in the soil may otherwise impact rotational decisions. We see this aspect of AGT-Glamour CL Plus as one of its greatest strengths.
AGT-Glamour CL Plus is a great option even when imidazolinone herbicide residues or in-crop applications aren't part of the equation; delivering performance on its own merits. It has consistently matched the leading non-herbicide tolerant competitors, offering very high and stable yields across both early and main season planting windows.
