Breeders comments

Lawler (tested as AGTP0006) is the second narrow-leaf lupin variety to be released by AGT, selected from the advanced germplasm licensed from DPIRD.

Lawler is a widely adapted variety, offering growers high and stable yields across all NSW, Victorian and South Australian lupin growing regions.

In environments where sheep graze lupin stubble over the summer, and where the risk of stem phomopsis is high, Lawler offers improved resistance compared to Coyote, similar to Mandelup and PBA Bateman.

Lawler is named after ‘Lawlers’ gold mine, southwest of Leinster, in WA’s gold fields.

Seed Availability

Commercial quantities of Lawler may be available through AGT Affiliates, or your local retailer.

Lawler is able to be traded between growers upon the completion of a License Agreement as part of AGT’s Seed Sharing™ initiative.

PBR and EPR

Lawler is protected by Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) and all production (except seed saved for planting) is liable to an End Point Royalty (EPR), which funds future plant breeding.

Lawler growers will be subject to a Growers License Agreement that acknowledges that an EPR of $4/tonne + GST has to be paid on all production other than seed saved for planting.
