Beast

Beast (tested as AGTB0113) is our first ever barley variety, offering very high yields with a vigorous 'Compass' style plant type, which is highly desirable in lower rainfall or Mallee type environments.

  • Quick maturity, almost a week quicker than Compass
  • Excellent performance in stressed, tight finishing environments and seasons
  • Compass plant type, with similar early vigour
  • Competitive physical grain quality package, with test weight and grainsize comparable to most commonly grown varieties
  • Feed quality, but has entered the malt accreditation process

Cyclops

Cyclops (tested as AGTB0200) has demonstrated exceptional performance across a broad range of regions and seasonal conditions, and has emerged as the clear market leader for barley varieties for WA, SA, Vic and southern NSW

  • The highest yielding barley variety across WA, SA,Vic, sNSW
  • Quick-mid maturity, slightly slower than Spartacus CL
  • Wide adaptation to a range of environments and seasonal conditions
  • Erect growing Hindmarsh plant type
  • Less susceptible to lodging than taller varieties such as Compass
  • Competitive physical grain quality package
  • Has entered to Barley Australia malt accreditation program but is currently deliverable as Barley/Feed

Minotaur

Minotaur (tested as AGTB0213) enters the market as a clear step-up from RGT Planet, demonstrating adaptation across a broader range of seasonal conditions and regions and a better over-all physical grain quality package.

  • A lower risk alternative to RGT Planet with similar top-end yield potential
  • Best suited to medium-high rainfall environments
  • Mid-slow maturity, slightly slower than RGT Planet
  • Broader adaptation than RGT Planet, delivering more stable yields across a wider range of environmental conditions
  • Improved test weight compared with RGT Planet
  • Minotaur has been accredited as a Malting Barley by Grains Australia

Yeti (tested as AGTB0043) sets a new yield benchmark across all northern growing regions, and produces grain with high test weights and excellent grain size. Yeti is related to Compass, but has a shorter plant height, offering improved standability.
